Ya but there are ppl who think that by giving 'free' education ppl will have more babies and there will not be other implications involved like a jump in personal income tax

And then they forget that is the reason why a lot of rich actually want to park their money in Singapore because of the low income tax!!!

And it will lead to another chain of events like ppl who rationalize that why work hard since there will be free education and they just bum around while the rest subsidize them

Ok I'm really negative or maybe the MIW brainwashed me but after looking at the social benefits and models of other countries and how it is subjected to abuse, I really dun wanna be a slave to others who abuse the system and dun wanna work

I think one thing the MIW did right was so that ppl will not have the crutch mentality but the thing is that there are so many who feel that the MIW should give out freebies and not expect to pay a cent for it from other means (income tax)

yes ... they got it right there ... self help is great ...

but group help is not ... that 85 years old annuity scheme is a bad bad idea ...

it's good not to saddle the goverment with a high social cost, but to get other people to fund a collective welfare scheme, that is too much ....
